Schantz House

Schantz House was the very first group home for OMRS opening in 1986. It has 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, 1 with a handicap accessible shower, a covered patio, a large fenced back yard as well as a wheelchair ramp at the entrance. This home was partially renovated in 2013 to allow for a more open floor plan making the dining and living room area larger and adding bar seating for residents. The kitchen was given a facelift allowing for more storage and counter space as well as a better view of residents from all joint living areas. This home offers many different types of supports for successful day-to-day home life therefore allowing the residents to live in a setting that best meets their needs and desires. Staff ensure that they allow residents to do as much as possible for themselves while paying attention to steps they can take to help the resident be more successful. Residents are encouraged to participate in many different community integration activities that meet their individual needs.
